The Eswatini Olympic and Commonwealth Games Association (EOCGA) takes pride in the academic and professional strides of its Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Maxwell Jele, who has departed for Switzerland to complete the final phase of his Master’s in Executive Sports Management (MEMOS) programme.
While in Lausanne, at the International Olympic Committee (IOC) Headquarters, Mr. Jele will defend his dissertation titled “The Route to Attaining Eswatini’s First Olympic Medal”. This research project not only reflects his personal academic journey but also speaks directly to the ambitions of EOCGA and the broader national sports movement.
MEMOS is a prestigious, internationally acclaimed programme run by the University of Ottawa in partnership with the IOC, designed to equip sports administrators with advanced leadership and management skills. Mr. Jele stands among 35 elite sports professionals from around the world who make up the current cohort, underscoring the recognition of Eswatini’s sporting leadership on the global stage.
EOCGA’s Marketing and Communications Officer, Mr. Mkhulisi Dlamini, reaffirmed the Association’s support: “We are confident that the CEO’s dedication and vision will not only earn him success in his MEMOS journey but also inspire a renewed drive towards building a sustainable pathway for Eswatini’s athletes to succeed internationally. His research is critical in shaping strategies that will bring us closer to our dream of celebrating the country’s first Olympic medal.”
