The Kingdom of Eswatini has taken centre stage in advancing Olympic education by hosting the ANOCA Zone VI Regional Workshop on Olympic Values Education and Clean Sport, held from 27 to 30 October 2025 at Esibayeni Lodge in Matsapha.

The workshop has brought together representatives from 10 African countries under the Association of National Olympic Committees of Africa (ANOCA) Zone VI, with a shared mission to promote the Olympic values of Excellence, Friendship, and Respect and to strengthen the role of sport as a catalyst for education, unity, and positive social change across Southern Africa.

The event was officially opened by the Minister of Sports, Culture and Youth Affairs, Honourable Bongani Nzima (MP), who commended the initiative for empowering youth leaders and educators to use sport as a transformative tool. “Sport is a school of life — a mirror of our values and a bridge across nations,” the Minister noted.

Hosting this prestigious regional event is a proud achievement for Eswatini and a reflection of the visionary leadership of the Eswatini Olympic and Commonwealth Games Association (EOCGA). Under the guidance of its President and Chief Executive Officer, EOCGA has worked tirelessly to position Eswatini as a proactive contributor to the Olympic Movement in Africa. This accomplishment underscores the country’s commitment to using sport as a means of education, development, and unity.

Distinguished guests in attendance include Lisungu Banda from AUSC Region 5, Faku Masupha (OVEP Facilitator), Malebo Raditladi (Safe Sport Task Team), Andrew Kamanga (RADO Zone VI Manager), and Botsang Tshenyego, representing the President of ANOCA Zone VI.

As discussions continue through the four-day programme, Eswatini remains proud to host and contribute to such a transformative platform — reaffirming its commitment to nurturing a sporting culture built on integrity, respect, and excellence.
