Congratulations are in order for Zakhele Dlamini who serves as Eswatini Olympics and Commonwealth Games vice President and also doubles up as Athletics Eswatini President as he scooped a top post as the new President of the Confederation of African Athletics Southern Region 5 (CAA-SR5). He achieved his election during the elective congress held in Durban, South Africa where he managed to get the nod ahead of Elias Mpondela from Zambia and James Moloi from south Africa. Dlamini, who is a lawyer by profession, takes the reigns for the next four years from Botswana’s Moses Bantsi. He was elected alongside Kamal Badru Juma from Mozambique as the vice President; Tseliso Pheta from Lesotho (Secretary General), Marie Carole Joana Theodora as an additional member and Noralalao Andriamahazo as CAA Women Council member. Worth-noting is that he is the second board member to scoop an international post following Pearl Dlamini’s nomination into the the IBA as a board member.
