The Commonwealth Games Association of Zambia (CGA Zambia) is proudly hosting the Commonwealth Sport eqUIP Workshop, which runs from October 6 to 10, 2025, in Lusaka, Zambia. The week-long engagement has brought together interns and their supervisors from across the Commonwealth, fostering an environment for learning, experience sharing, and professional development within the Commonwealth Sport movement.

Representing Eswatini at the workshop is EOCGA intern, Nontsikelelo Tshabalala, who joins peers from various Commonwealth nations to take part in discussions and activities aimed at enhancing capacity and collaboration across National Commonwealth Games Associations.

The eqUIP Programme, an initiative of the Commonwealth Games Federation (CGF), is designed to empower young professionals working within the Commonwealth Sport network. Through mentorship, practical exposure, and professional exchange, the programme equips participants with essential skills to contribute effectively to sports administration, governance, and communication within their respective National Olympic and Commonwealth Games Associations.

In his welcoming remarks, CGA Zambia Secretary General, Mr. Boniface Kambikambi, expressed the host nation’s excitement at welcoming participants from Team 19 and Team 20, describing the event as a proud moment for Zambia and the Commonwealth Sport community at large.

“We are delighted to host colleagues, friends, and partners from across the Commonwealth family. This gathering reflects the spirit of unity, development, and shared purpose that defines the Commonwealth Sport movement,” he said.

Commenting on Eswatini’s participation, EOCGA Communications Officer, Mkhulisi Dlamini, highlighted the significance of the workshop for both the intern and the organisation.

“This platform provides young professionals like Nontsikelelo with valuable exposure to the Commonwealth Sport movement. It allows her to exchange ideas, gain hands-on experience, and build networks that will strengthen Eswatini’s role within the broader Commonwealth family,” he said.
“We are proud of her representation and confident that the knowledge and insights gained will contribute meaningfully to the advancement of sport development and communication within EOCGA.”

The Eswatini Olympic and Commonwealth Games Association (EOCGA) remains committed to fostering youth empowerment and professional growth opportunities through international collaborations and development programmes such as eqUIP.
