The Eswatini Olympic and Commonwealth Games Association (EOCGA) is proud to announce that its Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Maxwell Jele, has attained a distinction in the Master’s in Executive Sports Management (MEMOS) programme. This intensive one-year programme, designed for sports leaders worldwide, is recognized by the International Olympic Committee and delivered in partnership with leading universities.

Mr. Jele recently returned from Lausanne, Switzerland, where he attended the final session of MEMOS XXVII. The session was reserved for the presentation and defense of his dissertation, titled “The Route to Attaining the First Olympic Medal for Eswatini.” His outstanding academic performance earned him an overall average of 83%.

A Journey of Commitment and Excellence

Reflecting on the achievement, Mr. Jele expressed deep appreciation for the support he received throughout his studies. “I am truly grateful to all stakeholders who played a role in this journey. I particularly acknowledge the EOCGA Board and Olympic Solidarity for their financial and technical support,” he said. He also commended his 34 fellow MEMOS participants, drawn from across the globe, describing the experience of learning and exchanging ideas with them as invaluable.

A Vision for Eswatini Sport

Beyond personal success, Mr. Jele emphasized the broader impact of this milestone. He believes that the skills, knowledge, and networks acquired through MEMOS will contribute to shaping Eswatini’s sporting landscape. “Eswatini sport is headed for better days. With the foundations we are laying and the positive momentum already underway, I believe our country will soon realize its first Olympic medal,” he stated.
