The Athletes Commission has been presented with equipment worth E100 000, thanks to efforts made by the Eswatini Olympic and Commonwealth Games Association. The equipment which consists of branding materials and two laptops was presented to the AC Chairman Sibusiso Bruno Matsenjwa.
The presentation was made at the EOCGA head offices in Lobamba on the 24th of May 2023 after the announcement of the squads to partake in the African Beach Games and the Commonwealth Youth Games. The Athletes Commission has a significant role in the implementation of EOCGA mandates as it represents athletes from different sporting codes.
EOCGA CEO Maxwell Jele said the association was pleased to have managed to present such equipment to the commission as it would assist in making their work much more easier. He also highlighted that in the region the Eswatini Athletes Commission was in the leading pack in terms of its activeness and recognition from which our counterparts are taking a leaf from the grounds covered by the commission.
The chairman of the commission, Sibusiso Matsenjwa thanked the association for the assistance and ensured that the equipment will be used diligently. He highlighted that the branding would really get them well recognized and in this way pave way for athletes to the commission thus being assisted on matters that affect them.
He concluded by mentioning the tentative dates in which the commission will have events and urged athletes to look for their gazebo where they will be available AC member who will assist them from the likes of Phumlile Ginindza, Carlota Munave amongst others.
